Our Story

ReFi Enugu was born from a spark of curiosity and urgency. On November 5, 2024, we hosted our inaugural Web3 educational event for youth under 14, in partnership with ReFi The Hague and The Viable Community. This indoor gathering introduced blockchain basics to wide-eyed kids, but it revealed stark gaps: low awareness of regenerative practices like tree planting amid Enugu's environmental pressures. Conversations ignited, leading to our official node formation in early 2025, backed by technical guidance from ReFi The Hague.

Fast-forward to November 29, 2025: Our flagship 042 GreenFest: Co-Creating a Regenerative Future brought 10 participants together for workshops, nature walks, tree-planting demos, and visioning sessions. Today, as of November 2025, we're a growing collective of volunteers, educators, and eco-warriors, expanding into youth workshops, digital storytelling, and Africa-wide collaborations. From humble roots in a youth event to a network planting hundreds of trees annually, our journey is just beginning.
